My obsession with the California Monarch butterflies is raging! I love these beautiful creatures when they come out to play at Yosemite National Park in the milk thistle plants, in my garden on the lantana especially and over at the coast in Pacific Grove during their annual migration!

My abstract perspective is captured in the colors and patterns of the butterfly, not so much a profile shape of the insect! I’m totally in love with these as a series and in various sizes and palette variations.
